There are a couple of important shopping streets that you shouldn't miss while in town.
Is your shop in one of these streets below? Contact us for advertising
De Kalverstraat
One of the main places to go on a shopping spree is the Kalverstraat. This street is the largest shopping street in Amsterdam. It runs from north to south from the Dam to the Munt Square and also runs partly parallel to the Singel.
It has about 150 stores and is approximately one kilometer long. The Kalverstraat has 15 side streets and alleyways. The name is derived from a calf market that was held there until the seventeenth century.
De Negen Straatjes
The 9 Streets is the collective name for nine small cosy streets between the Raadshuisstraat and Leidsestraat. The shopping area consists of the following streets: Berenstraat, Molenstraat, Hartenstraat, Huidenstraat, Reestraat, Runstraat and Wolvenstraat.
Here you will find many second hand shops, alternative fashion shops and all kind of little specialized shops. It is too much to mention, so just go there and see for yourself. If you´re looking for a delicious cup of coffee and a brief escape from the bustle of Amsterdam then this is also a great place.
PC Hooftstraat / Van Baerlestraat
This is one of the famous streets. In the PC Hooftstraat and Van Baerlestraat it is all about being noticed. You walk from classy store to classy store and make sure you get seen. If you want to see celebs then this is the place to be because this is where they shop.
But if you are only interested in high quality items then you will have to come to PC Hooftstraat or Van Baerlestraat.

Nieuwendijk
In this street you can see how varied Amsterdam is. Every building has a different shop with goods like clothes, leather, smartshops, pubs, etc. But I think you will like Bijenkorf the most. It is the largest department store here.
Magna Plaza
This mall has been built in an old postoffice. Even if you don´t plan to shop you should visit it because it has been restored so beautifully. And once there I think you´ll have a hard time not to shop.
You will find it behind the Palace on the Dam.
Leidsestraat
Here you will find lots of clothing. If you´re there and get hungry then look for all the small restaurants in the small side streets. You will get a chance to taste wonderful meals from all over the world.
You will find the Leidsestraat when you walk through Kalverstraat. At the end of the Leidsestraat you will find the Leidseplein (square).
