During the Christmas period there is a wide range of Christmas trees and Christmas accessories. The floating flower markt is open all seasons.

Waterlooplein

The Waterlooplein market is a historic market. It started in 1880, and is almost 130 years old. It was born out of poverty.
In the period before the Second World War there was extreme poverty, and people could use the money. People bought and sold everything they could find to earn some money and survive the crisis.
These days it is different, and the stand holder must comply with all requirements, to be allowed to have a stand.
Many businesses started on the Waterlooplein market. On the market place there are merchants from all cultures, and it has 300 stands. You can find lots of beautiful things there: antiques, books, DVD's (check out the regional code!), bicycles, interior, art, clothes, leather, army surplus, toys, etc. Or get a tattoo there... ;-)
